The Latest Progress

So What Happened?

I spent the next 10 months struggling to get around on a torn ACL/ Meniscus BUT YAH WAS WITH ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. There were times during this period I felt like giving up but I remembered what His word said in Isaiah 41:10 "Do not fear, for I AM with you, do not be dismayed for I AM your YAH. I will strengthen you and help you and uphold you with my righteous right hand." The days I felt alone, my Creator comforted me and the nights my tears hit the pillow, He bottled them for me. I was constantly reassured through random acts of kindness through family and friends that I would get through what I am now calling a "50/50 season". More on that later...

I knew Abba wasn't going to just leave me in this condition but faith without works is dead, right? I had to take action and be proactive. Like scripture tells us to ask, seek , knock - that's what I began to do. I didn't know who he'd use to assist me along the way, but I was confident The Father had it all under control as I held on to His hand.

Long story short, I had no insurance to cover this proceedure. Everything was super expernsive monthly. I felt the weight of judgement for not being in a position to help myself..... and THEN Yah came through like He always DO! HalelluYah! He used a couple sisters to assist me with getting affordable insurance so I could get the surgery. That was just the beginning. I had to get a total of 3 x-rays, 1 MRI and consultations from 3 different doctor's before I knew who Yah wanted to perform the work on my knee. It was a long and tedias process but again the word of YAH sustained me on my sick bed so to speak and also pushing myself to continue creating inspiring songs helped tremendously.

Surgery on Sept 7, 2020

Truth is, I was terrified to go into a hospital during 2021, especially after my stepdad was diagnosed with Covid and passed while connected to a ventilator. My mother also got Covid really bad and we had to dig deep in faith to believe Yahs ability would protect and pull us through all this testing.

I made it out, though the doctor said he was unable to repair my meniscus and actually wanted me to undergo another transplant surgery! Can you believe that?

Hearing this unfortunate news at my 2 week post opp was pretty devastating but again - knowing the healing power of Yah and the fact my ACL was rock solid, I told myself "Yah will be with you!" The story continues…

Physical Therapy

A critical step in recovery is to start PT immediately after surgery. The doctor's protocol was for me to start in two days and even through extreme pain and soreness, my physical therapist had me working on flection (bending my knee) and extension (straightening my knee). I'm still in PT working on agility exercises and building quad strength and progress has really been remarkable. The ACL recovery process is said to be roughly 12 months in order to get back to running, jumping, dancing, cutting, etc. and to Yah be the esteem for keeping me encouraged and having me ahead of schedule!

The Love & Support!

Words cannot express how blessed I felt with the amount of love and support Abba showed through His beautiful vessels. A huge shout out goes to my sister Cameron JoyπŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ who took off 2 months of work and was by my side this ENTIRE journey, from the time of my tear until now! Taking me to appointments, cooking, helping around the house and so much more. I could have not gotten through this without you, sis! THANK YOU and MUCH LOVE!! Also, I'd like to shout out my brother LaMont πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈfor constantly rooting me on, encouraging me and giving financial support to help. Such a blessing to have you in my corner bro! Love you, always! My momπŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ flew out to see me months before the actual surgery which was nice. I praise Yah for using her to bless me with finances to get all of the things needed for a smooth road back to recovery. In addition to that she'd sing me "healing mommy songs" over the phone in the middle of the night when I was having extreme pain. Then Cams dad, HaroldπŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ (who treats me like a daughter) blessed us both by coming to help for a week, taking me to the hospital for the surgery, getting the shower/transfer bench set up, cooking meals, cutting grass, helping with the ice-compression machine and the list goes on! A true "YAH SEND!" during the first week after surgery! Then about 2 months after the surgery, Momma DebbieπŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ (Cams mom) came for a week and served by cooking all of the meals (literally breakfast, lunch and dinner), cleaning and took me to and from Physical Therapy. Aunt MaryπŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ came by and brought us meals (she is so sweet). My dear sister and long time friend, Elle RocπŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ came to visit for a while, help me do physical therapy exercises and brought me groceries. My sister Kyla πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈbraided my hair for the surgery so I wouldn't be looking crazy afterwards - thanks to both of you! Many of you, (friends and family) chipped in to care for me, pray for me and still continue to donate toward physical therapy and my recovery. πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈJ-Dub, πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈChaim, πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈRegina, πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈSweet sister Dukes, πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈmy bro Deric,Β πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ amazing Jacog, πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈsweet Jeremy, πŸ’«πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈawesome Yvette - Thank you so much!
